Then one of the\u00a0<\/span><\/b><b><span>armatures is connected to the positive pole of an electromotive force generator \u03b8 and the other to the negative pole of the same generator.<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p><b><span>The\u00a0<\/span><\/b><b><span>armature connected to the negative pole of the generator is charged with negative charges\u00a0<\/span><\/b><b><span>(removing electrons from the top plate) and the one\u00a0<\/span><\/b><b><span>connected\u00a0<\/span><\/b><b><span>to the\u00a0<\/span><\/b><b><span>positive pole of the generator is charged with positive charges\u00a0<\/span><\/b><b><span>(adding electrons to the bottom plate) and as they are\u00a0<\/span><\/b><b><span>charged the potential difference between the plates
